The owner-managed Berghof Automation GmbH – that is 3 business units at two German development and production locations with over 120 employees and 18 international agencies. These are specialists in the areas of control technology, test technologies and information systems – and have been for more than 40 years.
Consistent with the ever-increasing demands on automation, our products have evolved: From the FPS’76, the first freely programmable microprocessor control system, to the conception and implementation of decentralized control solutions to the current IIOT generation “Control 4.0”. We take over the tried-and-tested, supplement this with innovative components from our own hardware and software development and ensure long-term availability. For our customers, we shorten their time-to-market and ensure optimal production processes with high clocking.

1974: World’s first microprocessor-controlled ergometer / exercise bike
1976: First freely programmable microprocessor control (PLC) for industrial applications in Germany with the FPS 76
1995: CANtrol, a decentralized CAN bus based modular, industrial control system with the newly introduced CODESYS from 3S, offers unique expansion possibilities for any application in the industry
2000: System power track for intra logistics; unique loop conductor system for secure transmission of communication data with a specially tailored software package
2005: Dialogue controller, a combination of HMI and PLC with individually assignable option slots
